Meet Bernie Meyer of Olympia, Washington. Since February, 2002, Bernie has portrayed Mahatma Gandhi in many community settings. He has led Salt Marches, including one in Olympia, Washington and he has even portrayed Gandhi in India.
We found Gandhi, er… Bernie speaking at the Quimper Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Port Townsend, Washington. He was kind enough to give us a few moments for a personal interview.

This is an interesting concept. It reminds me of another guy who used to impersonate Thomas Jefferson. It worked! The guy must have known more about Thomas Jefferson than anyone alive. He was thoroughly convincing — and had a sense of humor. Jees, what was his name? [wanders over to google]

Penseroso, And? Yes? His name? We’re waiting.
Uber, thanks for the link!
Krystyna, I love humility. I usually get in trouble when I forget about it and get cocky.

Patience, patience. Shees!

Thanks! There was a fellow who used to portray my great, great, great, great cousin, Mark Twain. Now I need to go look him up. Be back in a few days to let you know the answer (hint, hint, pensey-rosy. Oh, I guess it only took you four hours. I’ll probably take longer.)
Probably not surprising that I am related to Samual Clemens. They should do a documentary on him called “Langhorne” just like “Amadeus” for Mozart.

Wow! You’re related to Hal Holbrook? Tell him I loved his performance in “All The President’s Men.” The only other role I can remember him in — clearly, that is — is in “Magnum Force” as Harry Callahan’s evil boss. He probably doesn’t want to be reminded of that, though.

No, silly! I am related to Samual L. Jackson… wait. That’s not it. Samual Clemens.
