Is There Life After Microsoft?

We went to the Microsoft Alumni Network’s “After the holidays party” at Boing’s Museum of Flight and spoke with Microsoft veterans about how they “broke up” with Microsoft and what they are doing now. It is helpful to keep in mind that these are ex-Microsofties who would actually be caught dead at an alumni event, not a respresentative sample of people who have left jobs at Microsoft to be certain. But they sure were a fun bunch of people. We had a blast in more ways that one. (Hint: there was a flight simulator.)

  • Can’t watch the videeo on my Mac (figures, doesn’t it, since the subject is Microsoft), but that photo is priceless.

  • Er, I meant to write “video”. I can spell — really, I can.

  • [...] group of ex-Microsofties, held an after-the-holidays party at The Museum of Flight in Seattle, and Puget Town was there, video camera in hand. They were asking people what they were doing post-Microsoft, and the answers [...]

  • Pensey (I call him Pensey; that’s my little nick-name for him), did you try going straight to Puget Town at blip.tv? You need to be able to view my videos or something terrible might happen and I don’t want to even think about what could happen. Now I am worried. ;)

Nathan at Microsoft, Thanks for the ping! I like pings and yours is very special to me. Now I’m going to keep an eye on you! Ask Pensey about it.

  • Yay! I can now watch the adventures and peregrinations of Heather on blip.tv! I’ve bookmarked it, and am eagerly awaiting the next installment.

BTW — I’m glad that was just a flight “simulator”. I’m not sure I want you fiddling with real machine guns. Think what would happen if someone started messing with your Barbie.

  • Funny. Very funny. Ha… Ha… Ha. :/

Actually, I have had the rare and disconcerting opportunity to fire an M-16 in a shooting range at Camp Rilea (sp?). I didn’t kill or injure anyone. But let the record show that I am, in fact, a pacifist. Anyone who says any different is itching for a fight!
    :)

  • I enjoyed your post.
    I’m not good writer,
    but I’m good reader.
    Take good care!

  • Cool blog! Thanks for the comment on Spin Thicket.

  • Thanks for your visit and comment. ( enjoyed reading your posts)

Btw. I am also using vista and no crashes. (upgraded my ram and graphics card – maybe that may help you?)

  • Krystyna, Glad you enjoyed it.
Scott, Thanks for your comment here. I appreciate the kind words. Makes me feel good. :)
Peety, I don’t think we’ve seen the last of Vista here. Probably wait for more people to help them work out the kinks!
